As the summer weather continued to bring its share of surprises, July proved to be a vibrant month filled with an array of exciting fundraisers, and events, creating cherished memories, and bringing us all closer together. From explorations at the Liverpool World Museum to fun-filled parties and heart-warming celebrations, this vibrant July was nothing short of extraordinary. Let’s journey down memory lane and relive the social events that made July truly remarkable.

An Amazing Day at Liverpool World Museum with Brooklands Residents

Our adventure started with a captivating visit to the Liverpool World Museum, where we explored fascinating exhibits and encountered some creepy crawly friends, like the enchanting spiders! The pictures we captured speak volumes about the wonder and knowledge that museums can impart.

Cheese and Wine Day at Pennine View and Church View

Indulging in delectable cheese and wine with friends and family was a treat for the taste buds and a perfect way to savour the company of loved ones.

Aloha Hawaii Party at Marsh House

Residents felt the spirit of Aloha and dressed up for an incredible day! We bounced on the bouncy castle and tested our luck with the tombola. The refreshing ice cream van and challenging hook-a-duck game added to the fun!

Therapy Dogs at Brooklands

Witnessing the heart-warming interactions between therapy dogs and the residents at Brooklands care home was a reminder of the positive impact of animals on mental well-being.

John’s Journey of Self-Discovery at Dovehaven House

Through the dedicated care and support provided by our team, John embarked on a journey of rehabilitation and rediscovery. During his time with us, he found solace and joy in playing the piano, rekindling his love for music.

Celebrating Emily Pankhurst’s Birthday at Argyle Park

In commemoration of this remarkable woman, our residents came together and filled the home with vibrant colours by colouring Suffragette Roses. Each flower represented the spirit of equality and empowerment that Emmeline Pankhurst fought for throughout her life.

James, Pam, and Paige Abseil Fundraiser

The enthusiasm displayed by Brooklands Care Home community in supporting their fundraiser was awe-inspiring. Together, they made a significant impact and helped improve the lives of residents at Brooklands by abseiling down Anfield Stadium!

Wimbledon at Argyle Park

The spirit of Wimbledon came alive at Argyle Park as residents decided to host their very own sit-down tennis event in the heart of July. Argyle Park was excited as everyone gathered to witness a friendly competition between residents and family members.

Introducing baby Charlotte Ponzini and celebrating with BBQ and a drink! We gathered to celebrate the arrival of baby Charlotte Ponzini, daughter of Garden Lodges Home Manager and the occasion was nothing short of magical.

Lloyds and Co Peace of Mind Talk at The Brunswick

A topic that often goes overlooked but is of utmost importance – having a will and power of attorney documents. Thanks to the expertise of Lloyds and Co, we gained valuable insights into why securing our future and ‘peace of mind’ is crucial. Vicky Slater’s comprehensive talk equipped us with knowledge about the necessary steps to ensure our affairs are in order. It was an eye-opening hour that empowered us to take control of our financial and legal matters.

Celebrating CQC

What better way to mark a fantastic month than with a grand celebration? Dovehaven Care Homes received their ratings from the Care Quality Commission. As we commemorated being rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This remarkable recognition was a testament to the dedication and commitment of the staff at Pennine View, Dovehaven House, The Beaufort, Dovehaven Lodge & Marsh House. The smiles on our staff’s faces really show just how much this recognition means to us!

Let’s give a standing ovation to our incredible team members Ste Quilliam, Zunaira Ashfaq, Sian Taylor, Louise Gibney, and Tom Ely, for their unwavering dedication and exceptional contributions to Dovehaven Care Homes!
