Our Care Services

Everything we do is driven by the genuinely caring person centred approach we take towards the specialist nursing care of our ‘family’ of residents.

Our approach to nursing care is based on the use of personalised care plans. Working together with those that know the resident best, we want to learn as much as we can about every person, in addition to their healthcare and medical needs. Knowing them as individuals and their life history, helps to build essential trusting and caring bonds with every resident we care for, playing a big part in helping residents feel safe, comfortable, relaxed and ‘at home’.

Understanding that care requirements will change, we are mindful to ensure those changing needs are identified. Our nurses work very closely with other external healthcare professionals so that the broadest range of expertise is on hand, if required.

The health, well-being and happiness of our residents, is always our number one priority. Care can be provided on a one to one basis for those who require that extra personal support. The team members who deliver such care become to understand that residents needs and wishes very well.

Those who live with us are encouraged to take part in various daily activities. Our activity coordinator is dedicated to ensuring that activities engage people’s attention and interest. Being engaged in meaningful activities ensures residents feel comfortable, safe and ‘at home’ enough to be able to relax and have fun and enjoy the company of others, as friends.

Following activity themes and incorporating seasonal celebrations and special events, all Dovehaven care homes use ‘Oomph! On Demand’ to support resident exercise, hobbies, themed days and personal interests.
