Welcome to Callands Care Home

Callands Care Home is a special place, located in the Callands community of Warrington. With 120 beds, we are proud to care for residents with a range of care needs, including residential, general nursing, dementia care, dementia nursing and more complex and specialist health care.

To foster a sense of belonging and connection, our large care home is made up of five distinct communities, each named after a great body of water found in the Lake District.

The home spans across two floors, with a lift for easy access. Each of our five communities has a spacious lounge and dining room, as well as cosy nooks and private bedrooms.

During the warmer months, our ground floor communities benefit from large patio doors located around the home. Our residents enjoy access to the many gardens and courtyards found at Callands and you can often individuals gardening, sun bathing and spending time in the sun.

Everyone at Callands Care Homes is respected as an individual and therefore we understand that everyone’s needs, and preferences are different.

Through a personalised care plan, we gather details and information from those who know the resident best. We know that the finer details are important, and we ensure all preferences and personal wished are recorded to reflect the needs and wants of the resident. We also hold frequent communications with families to ensure these care plans stay up to date.

We offer full nursing care for people with specific requirements, includug PEG- feeding, palliative, physical disabilities as well as end of life care. Our teams work very closely with other external healthcare professionals, to ensure that the broadest range of expertise is available to support all care needs.

The respite care we provide is ideal for those requiring care following discharge from hospital or who might alternatively receive care in their own home. We are very happy to discuss your requirements for a respite stay, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Callands Care Home is staffed by a team of compassionate and professional individuals who are dedicated to going above and beyond for our residents.

Benefitting from the rigorous Dovehaven learning and development programmes, all our team members at Callands are fully trained in dementia awareness and person-centred care.

The team is led by our dedicated Home Manager and Deputy Manager who work closely with our Unit Managers to ensure that our teams have everything they need to provide excellence care to our residents.

Our dedicated activity, housekeeping and kitchen team members play an essential role in working together with the whole home, across this large site, to provide the very best of service to the residents.

In each community, our dining tables are always set for mealtimes and we ensure the friendliest of atmospheres in order that all mealtimes are happy, sociable occasions.

Our kitchen teams are able to cater to a wide range of dietary needs. Our menus can be altered to meet personal tastes, religious and cultural preferences and other life long traditions.

Daily menus include old favourites like pies, roasts, curries and cakes. We always use the freshest of seasonal ingredients to ensure that our food is packed with flavour and nutrition.

We pride ourselves on ensuring that our menu choices are available, in the most appropriately palatable way, for all needs. Our meal choices are sure to tempt even the smallest appetite, so that we can be sure nutritional needs can be met for every resident.

Of course, there is a choice of refreshments available to residents, at all times. It is as important for our residents to drink enough fluid as well as to eat well. Homemade scones and cakes are available daily from the kitchen and residents very much enjoy having afternoon tea!

In addition to mealtimes, drinks, fruit, snacks and suppers are freely available for all to enjoy.
