Welcome to Dovecote Manor
Dovecote Manor provides the very best of residential care and is full of fun and laughter. Along with its close neighbour, Dovehaven Nursing Home, the home enjoys the most expansive lawns and gardens and residents can very often to be found together outside in the sunshine, either sitting or being active with an activity or hobby.
Southport is on the doorstep and for those residents who wish shops , cafes and other amenities are close by. Just a stone’s throw from the marina, residents can enjoy a walk on the promenade and stunning views of the Irish Sea.
A large reception area with comfortable seating, in addition to a smaller and larger lounges, provides a wide choice of areas residents might choose to spend their time. Looking into the larger lounge, you might spot the table tennis table and the snooker table, that gives you a flavour of this home!
Our beautifully appointed dining room overlooks the garden and offers residents a choice of dining with others or in your own company. The choice is yours. Residents choose their meals from a varied daily menu and we ensure that dietary requirements and resident preferences are accommodated
Bedrooms have been tastefully decorated, with no two the same. Some bedrooms have small balconies and enjoy garden views, all of which have en-suite facilities. Of course, we very much encourage our residents and families to personalise their private bedrooms to make it feel 'just like home'. Those extra touches will make all of the difference
On the lower ground floor, where the home betrays its history as a hotel, is the cafe bar with access to the garden. Friends and family are welcome to visit at any time and in the café area is a specially constructed 'visitor pod', to facilitate safe family visiting, whatever the current guidelines might be.

An activity coordinator, along with the whole team from Dovecote, design and delivers an entertainment programme full of fun and stimulating activities. Residents can enjoy a wide range of group activities and are supported to continue their own hobbies or take up new things. This is a home where both residents and the team come together and create a 'family' to ensure that everyone has fun.
All Dovehaven care homes use 'Oomph! On Demand' to support resident exercise, hobbies, themed days and personal interests.
Kelly Mortimer is the Home Manager at Dovecote Manor and her experience and enthusiasm is obvious in every area of this home.
All team members possesses the necessary skills, experience, training and qualities to ensure that the delivery of residential care is kind and appropriate for them. The ability to make a resident feel at ease is an essential skill which all of our care team possess. Every member of our team are trained in person-centred care and dementia awareness.
Dovehaven have a robust induction and ongoing training for all team members to ensure that they have all of the skills and knowledge they need to provide expert residential and personal care, with confidence. Of course, our Home Manager and our Deputy Manager are always on hand to give support and advice to team members and family members alike.
Our kitchen team has a passion for delivering the very best menu, to match residents tastes. Ensuring our residents receive a menu which is seasonal, varied and cooked to perfection, our residents enjoy they best of dining experiences.
Our activity coordinator is dedicated to ensuring that our residents enjoy the very best lifestyle. The varied and weekly activity programme includes music, visiting entertainers and outings as well as residents hobbies and resident interests. Residents are supported one to one to continue activities in the community, such as book groups or church services.
Our dining room is beautifully decorated and has views of the garden lawns through the windows. With dining tables always beautifully set for mealtimes, our residents enjoy the best of dining experiences making them feel very much ‘at home’ in the friendliest of atmospheres, all mealtimes are happy, sociable occasions.
The daily menu includes old favourites like pies, roasts and sticky toffee pudding and is packed with quality, seasonal and nutritious ingredients. Created by chefs, with the reassurance that dietitians oversee the menu preparation, we guarantee our meals are as nourishing as they are appealing and delicious. Our menu is varied, tempting and reflects residents preferences. We pride ourselves on ensuring that our menu choices are available, in the most appropriately palatable way, for all needs. Our meal choices are sure to tempt even the smallest appetite, so that we can be sure nutritional needs can be met for every resident.
We also enjoy hosting various food related events throughout the year. There is no doubt that the fun of a themed event which is reflected in the menu of the day, gives our residents the opportunity to eat some very enjoyable traditional meals but also try something a little different.
Of course, there is a choice of refreshments available to residents, at all times. It is as important for our residents to drink enough fluid as well as to eat well. Homemade scones and cakes are available daily from the kitchen and residents very much enjoy having afternoon tea!
In addition to mealtimes, drinks, fruit, snacks and suppers are freely available for all to enjoy.

My mother has been a resident at Dovecote Manor for 18 months now and has been extremely well looked after in this time. The pandemic has presented a huge challenge to the management and staff and they have handled it magnificently. They have always been so friendly and helpful towards me and the genuine care and affection they show my mother gives me huge reassurance.
All the staff are wonderful and charming. I have been welcome and the staff generally are helpful and have been so nice to me.
I feel happy and safe. Activities include snooker, quizzes, walking in the garden and barbeques with friends. The size of the bedroom is good and it is reachable
