Welcome to Dovehaven Grove Care Home

Dovehaven Grove opened its doors as part of the Dovehaven family in May 2020. Before which the home underwent a complete refurbishment, to ensure it was brought right up to date with all amenities and decorated to the standard to which our residents and their families would wish.

Dovehaven Grove provides residential care for 55 residents. Our beautifully appointed top floor is available for those who require residential care and lower floors care for those residents living with dementia who require residential care.

Located in Bamber Bridge, the home is situated next to scenic Withy Grove Park. Although the home is at the end of an impressive driveway, it is very easily accessible to local shops, GP surgeries, cafes and bars. Residents and their families enjoy having such amenities at hand, so that they can enjoy time out and about in the local community, when possible.

Preston, Chorley and Leyland are on the doorstep and very easily accessible from the main motorway network.

We enjoy some beautifully appointed dining rooms, lounges and other communal areas. Our library is certainly a popular place for residents to visit, as is our beauty salon, which is very well appointed. On every floor residents have places to socialise, dine and participate in activities together or continue personal hobbies.

All bedrooms are large, ensuite and beautifully decorated. We very much encourage our residents to personalise their own bedrooms, bringing items and belongings, to ensure that their rooms feel 'just like home'.

Friends and family are welcome to visit at any time. We also have a specially constructed 'visitor pod' so that we are able to facilitate safe family visiting, whatever the current guidelines may be.

The health, well-being and happiness of our ‘family’ of residents, is always our number one priority.

Dovehaven Grove is a residential care home, we care for residents who require help and assistance with personal care and medication as well as those who live with dementia.

All care is delivered in a person centred way, considering the resident and their background, their family and their choices. We also understand that care requirements will change and we are mindful to ensure those changing needs are identified.

Everyone at Dovehaven Grove is respected as an individual. The team in the home understand that the needs of every resident are different.

All of our residents enjoy their own care plan, tailored specifically for them. Everything we do is driven by this genuinely caring person centred approach, working together with friends and family to ensure the care experience is as expected and most importantly, helping residents stay healthy and safe.

The respite care we provide is ideal for those looking for extra care and support in a relaxing and homely environment - whether its following a recent illness, or there is a need for a 'holiday stay' in order that a carer might take a break.

Our activity programme is designed to include and actively support our resident’s hobbies and interests. The whole team participate in meaningful and therapeutic pastimes to encourage social participation and to encourage gentle exercise for the body and mind. Reminiscence therapy forms the basis of many of our conversations and activities with our resident’s.

All Dovehaven care homes use 'Oomph! On Demand' to support resident exercise, hobbies and personal interests.

Our Home Manager Lynsey Rafferty is passionate about the standard of care delivered to our 'family' of residents. All team members are encouraged to participate in the daily life of the home, sharing it with all our residents in order to create a 'homely' atmosphere.

Our well trained care team provide professional, but friendly personal care and memory care, which is tailor made to reflect a residents care needs and choices.

All team members are trained in person-centred care. All possesses the necessary skills, experience, training and qualities to ensure that the delivery of care for those living with dementia, is kind and appropriate for them. The ability to make a resident feel at ease is an essential skill which all of our care team possess.

Dovehaven have a robust induction and ongoing training for all team members, to ensure that they have all of the skills and knowledge they need to provide expert dementia care, with confidence. Of course, our Home Manager and Deputy Manager are always on hand to give support and advice to team members and family members alike.

The team at Dovehaven Grove are dedicated to ensuring that the home is a kind and safe place for residents to live and that all of the residents needs are met with friendliness and reassurance. We all have a part to play in our resident’s care.

We encourage families to assist us in developing the ‘home from home’ atmosphere we want it to be.

Our residents feel very much ‘at home’ in all our dining rooms. With views of the garden and the park, the friendliest of atmospheres, all mealtimes are happy and sociable occasions.

With our dining tables always beautifully set for mealtimes our residents enjoy the best of dining experiences.

The daily menu includes old favourites like pies, roasts and sticky toffee pudding and is packed with quality, seasonal and nutritious ingredients. Created by chefs, with the reassurance that dietitians oversee the menu preparation, we guarantee our meals are as nourishing as they are appealing and delicious. Our menu is varied, tempting and reflects residents preferences.

We pride ourselves on ensuring that our menu choices are available, in the most appropriately palatable way, for all needs and sure to tempt even the smallest appetite, so that we can be sure nutritional needs can be met for every resident.

We also enjoy hosting various food related events throughout the year. There is no doubt that the fun of a themed event which is reflected in the menu of the day, gives our residents the opportunity to eat some very enjoyable traditional meals but also, try something a little different.

Of course, there is a choice of refreshments available to residents, at all times. It is as important for our residents to drink enough fluid as well as to eat well.

Homemade scones and cakes are available daily from the kitchen and residents very much enjoy having afternoon tea!

In addition to mealtimes, drinks, fruit, snacks and suppers are freely available for all to enjoy.
