Welcome to Dovehaven Residential Home
At Dovehaven Residential Home, we provide quality residential care for 36 residents.
Our friendly staff provide a professional level of care in a comfortable and relaxing environment, maintaining independence, privacy and dignity for all.
Our home is a beautifully converted Victorian villa, ideally located for those who like to be 'out and about' between Lord Street and Hesketh Park. The rooms have beautiful high ceilings and with the home decorated to a very high standard, our residents feel very comfortable and 'right at home'.
The lounge leads into to a large conservatory, ensuring that the residents can enjoy bright and spacious accommodation. With access out onto the patio and the garden, our dining room is always beautifully set for the next meal, the room is ideal for socialising or eating and enjoying your own company.
Private bedrooms vary in size and aspect and we very much encourage our residents to personalise their rooms with their own special items, to ensure that it feel 'just like home'.
Friends and family are welcome to visit at any time. Having a specially constructed 'visitor pod' facilitates safe family visiting, whatever the current guidelines may be.
The health, well-being and happiness of our ‘family’ of residents, is always our number one priority.
Our team is committed to providing person centred residential care, to ensure residents maintain active and positive lifestyles and with support, be as independent as possible, for as long as possible. However, we also understand that care requirements will change and we are mindful to ensure those changing needs are identified.
All of our residents have their own care plan, tailored specifically for them. This allows us to build care delivery around their preferences, lifestyles and routines. Everything we do is driven by this genuinely caring person centred approach, working together with friends and family to ensure the care experience is as expected and most importantly, helping residents stay healthy, happy and safe.
Those who live with us are encouraged to take part in the varied daily activities that are offered in the home. Our activity coordinator is dedicated to ensuring that residents activities are designed to engage people's attention and interest. Being engaged in meaningful activities ensures residents feel comfortable, safe and 'at home' enough to be able to relax and have fun and enjoy the company of others, as friends.
All Dovehaven care homes use 'Oomph! On Demand' to support resident exercise, hobbies, themed days and personal interests.
The respite care we provide is ideal for those looking for extra care and support in a relaxing and homely environment - whether its following a recent illness, or your usual care is not available. If you are considering a short term respite stay, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Led by Home Manager Michelle Lomax, our well trained care team provide professional, but friendly residential care and personal support which is tailor made to reflect a residents care needs and choices.
Each member of our care team possesses the necessary skills and qualities to ensure that the delivery of care for our residents is kind and appropriate for them. All staff are trained in person-centred care and dementia awareness.
Dovehaven have a robust induction and ongoing training for all team members to ensure that they have all of the skills and knowledge they need to provide expert residential care, with confidence. Of course, our Home Manager and our Deputy Manager are always on hand to give support and advice to team members and family members alike.
The team at Dovehaven Residential Home are dedicated to ensuring that the home is a kind and safe place for residents to live and that all of the residents needs are met.
Our residents feel very much ‘at home’ in our dining room. With access and views of the garden and the friendliest of atmospheres, all mealtimes are happy and sociable occasions.
Fruit, drinks and snacks are freely available, all day, every day from the servery.
Our tables are beautifully set and the daily menu offers a variety of delicious, home cooked, dishes at each mealtime. From breakfast and lunch to afternoon tea and dinner, our experienced chef ensures the menu is varied, tempting and reflects residents preferences.
We also enjoy hosting various food related events throughout the year. There is no doubt that the fun of a themed event which is reflected in the menu of the day, gives our residents the opportunity to eat some very enjoyable traditional meals but also try something a little different.
Dining is a very important part of the daily life in our home and the chef receives many compliments!
