Welcome to Maple Lodge

Maple Lodge cares for those requiring residential care, living with dementia. Our friendly, well trained team provide a professional level of care in a comfortable and relaxing environment and ensure that independence, privacy and dignity is maintained for all residents in our care.

Very involved and known to its local community, residents are, in the main, local people who appreciate remaining close to family and friends.

Very conveniently, the accommodation at Maple Lodge is all on one floor, this is a home with space. Bright and open corridors as well as large lounges with dining areas and a small quiet lounge, ensures residents can move around the home freely and safely, stopping along the way to chat and look out at the gardens.

Although all bedrooms are well decorated and fully furnished, we encourage our residents to personalise their own bedrooms with their special items, to ensure it feels 'just like home'. The 45 bedrooms have views of gardens and the front of the home which is perfect for those who like to see people coming and going. Ensuites are not standard in this home but there are many well decorated bathrooms for residents to access.

Its useful also to note that there is a private off road car park for visiting family and friends.

The health, well-being and happiness of our ‘family’ of residents, is always our number one priority.

The team at Maple Lodge is committed to providing person centred care to enable our residents to remain active and happy while maintaining positive lifestyles. To be as independent as possible, for as long as possible.

All of our residents have a care plan, tailored specifically for them. This is written to include healthcare and medical information, but also allows care and support to reflect resident choices and routines. Everything we do is driven by this genuinely caring person centred approach, also working together with friends and family to ensure the care experience is as expected and most importantly, helps our 'family' of residents stay safe, healthy and happy. Care requirements often change as time goes on and our care team are mindful to ensure those changing needs are identified.

Our activity coordinator is dedicated to ensuring that residents have enjoyable and interesting activities. Ensuring residents feel comfortable, safe and 'at home' enough to be able to relax and have fun and enjoy the company of others, as friends. The home is always alive with music and chatter. If there is an event, there will always be dancing and singing. This is a home which is full of fun and laughter, never a dull moment.

All Dovehaven care homes use 'Oomph! On Demand' to support resident exercise, hobbies, themed days and personal interests.

The respite care we provide is ideal for those looking for extra care and support in a relaxing and homely environment - whether its following a recent illness, or your usual care is not available. Please enquire with details of the respite care you require and we will be happy to help.

Dave Armstrong is the Home Manager at Maple Lodge and he is passionate about providing exemplary dementia care, with compassion.

Every Maple Lodge team member possesses the necessary skills and qualities to ensure that our care is kind and appropriate. Everyone, no matter their job role, is committed to providing the best possible care in a patient and respectful manner.

All staff are trained in dementia awareness and person-centred care as standard.

Dovehaven have a robust induction and ongoing training for all team members to ensure that they have all of the skills and knowledge they need to provide expert dementia care, with confidence. Of course, our Home Manager and our Deputy Manager, both with the skills and passion to deliver excellent care, are always on hand to give support and advice to team members and family members alike.

Every team member at Maple Lodge is dedicated to ensuring that this home is a kind and safe place for residents to live and every residents need is met.

With our dining tables always beautifully set for mealtimes in both of our dining rooms, our residents enjoy the best of dining experiences making them feel very much ‘at home’ in the friendliest of atmospheres. Our dining rooms are spacious and comfortable.

The daily menu includes old favourites like pies, roasts and sticky toffee pudding and is packed with quality, seasonal and nutritious ingredients. Created by chefs, with the reassurance that dietitians oversee the menu preparation, we guarantee our meals are as nourishing as they are appealing and delicious. Our menu is varied, tempting and reflects residents preferences.
We pride ourselves on ensuring that our menu choices are available, in the most appropriately palatable way, for all needs. Our meal choices are sure to tempt even the smallest appetite, so that we can be sure nutritional needs can be met for every resident.

We also enjoy hosting various food related events throughout the year. There is no doubt that the fun of a themed event which is reflected in the menu of the day, gives our residents the opportunity to eat some very enjoyable traditional meals but also try something a little different.

Of course, there is a choice of refreshments available to residents, at all times. It is as important for our residents to drink enough fluid as well as to eat well.

Homemade scones and cakes are available daily from the kitchen and residents very much enjoy having afternoon tea!

In addition to mealtimes, drinks, fruit, snacks and suppers are freely available for all to enjoy.

At Maple Lodge we are able to care for those requiring dementia residential care.

Following a financial assessment should it be agreed that a placement would be funded by the local authority, we can confirm that the top up amount to the fees rate would be from £66 per week.

For those residents funding their own weekly fees the fee rates are from £973.31 per week for dementia residential care.

What people say

In the time that my mum has been a resident, she has been very well looked after. The staff genuinely care about the resident’s and are kind and attentive. Even though they are incredibly busy they often take time to talk to mum even though she is not a great talker these days. Mum is treated with dignity at all times.

Elaine G (Daughter of Resident)

I would definitely recommend Maple Lodge to anyone whose loved ones need care and I want to personally thank each and every member of
staff for their constant hard work and dedication.

H A (Daughter of Resident)

My grandma has never looked so well since she joined Maple Lodge. Staff are attentive and treat my grandma like she’s one of their family. Nothing seems too much trouble for the staff and when you call they’re always so friendly on the phone too

Karen M (Granddaughter of Resident)

My mum has been in Maple Lodge care home now for 8 months, following the death of my father. The staff have done an excellent job of helping her to settle in and feel safe and of reassuring us as her family, that she is well looked after. Whenever we visited, we were made very welcome

Katy K (Daughter of Resident)

During this very difficult time the care my Mum has received is excellent.
Staff are caring, informative and professional. We feel as a family that our relative is part of their family and they genuinely care for her wellbeing.
