Welcome to Pennine View

Pennine View care home is known throughout the Accrington community for providing residential care for individuals living with dementia. We are proud to offer a comfortable 'forever home' for residents, but also welcome those in need of a shorter respite stay.

The home has undergone a large refurbishment campaign in recent years with all three floors receiving new furnishing, fixtures and decor. The third floor of the home has been recently completed and reopened for use by residents in early 2024.

Each floor of Pennine View has a spacious dining hall and comfortable TV room for residents to enjoy. The home also boasts an in house hair salon, a quiet garden room and a larger visitors lounge on the ground floor, where activities are held daily.

Our team at Pennine View is committed to providing person centred residential, dementia care for our residents, ensuring we are responsive and show compassion to the individual needs of all. We also understand that care requirements will change and we are mindful to ensure those changing needs are identified.

All of our residents have their own care plan, tailored specifically for them. This allows us to build their care around their preferences, lifestyles and routines. Everything we do is driven by our person centred approach, working together with those who know the resident best to ensure the care experience is as familiar and comfortable for the resident.

The respite care we provide is ideal for those looking for extra care and support in a relaxing and homely environment - whether it's following a recent illness or in need of time away from their own home.

Everyone is encouraged to take part in the many daily activities offered in the home. Our Activity Co-ordinator designs a programme of events to engage people's attention and interest. Having meaningful activities ensures residents feel comfortable, safe and 'at home'. Helping our residents to relax, laugh, have fun and enjoy the company of others, just as 'family'.

Led by Home Manager Emma Willoughby, the well trained team at Pennine View are experienced in supporting and providing the best residential care for all our residents who are living with dementia and severe memory loss.

The Pennine View team often receive high praise on for being professional and kind towards our residents and their families.

All our staff are trained in dementia awareness and person-centred care. Everyone at Pennine View from the housekeeping team to the chefs possess the necessary skills and qualities to ensure that the delivery of care for those living with dementia, is kind and appropriate for them.

The team at Pennine View are dedicated to ensuring that the home is a welcoming and safe place for residents to live and that all of the residents needs are met.

Our dining rooms are comfortable, spacious and enjoy the friendliest of atmospheres. All mealtimes are happy, sociable occasions. With our dining tables always set, our residents enjoy the best of dining experiences making them feel very much ‘at home’.

The daily menu includes old favourites like pies, roasts and sticky toffee pudding and is packed with quality, seasonal and nutritious ingredients. Created by chefs, with the reassurance that dietitians oversee the menu preparation, we guarantee our meals are as nourishing as they are appealing and delicious. Our menu is varied, tempting and always reflects residents preferences.

We pride ourselves on ensuring that our menu choices are available, in the most appropriately palatable way, for all needs, sure to tempt even the smallest appetite, so that we can be sure nutritional needs can be met for every resident.

We also enjoy hosting various food related events throughout the year. There is no doubt that the fun of a themed event, which is reflected in the menu of the day, gives our residents the opportunity to eat some very enjoyable traditional meals but, also try something a little different.

Of course, there is a choice of refreshments available to residents, at all times. It is as important for our residents to drink enough fluid as well as to eat well.

Homemade scones and cakes are available daily from the kitchen and residents very much enjoy having afternoon tea!

In addition to mealtimes, drinks, fruit, snacks and suppers are freely available for all to enjoy.

At Pennine View, we are able to care for individuals requiring dementia residential care.

Following a financial assessment should it be agreed that a placement would be funded by the local authority, we can confirm that the top up amount to the fees rate would be £66 per week.

For those residents funding their own weekly fees the fee rates are from £995 per week.

What people say

Thank you so much to the team at Dean Wood Manor, especially the Woodlands Unit, for their care, love and support shown to my Grandma. Grandma entered Dean Wood during the Covid pandemic…..However, we were quick to realise that the staff are fantastic, treating our relative like their own, with complete dignity and respect.

Lucy B (Grand daughter of Resident)

The management and all the caring staff are excellent, caring for my sister. They also take time to ask how the relatives are. I am very happy that my sister is safe and happy. I couldn’t ask for more. Thank you.

P T (Sister of Resident)

I am full of admiration for the skill and compassion of the staff at The Beaufort, where my husband has spent more than three years. His End of Life care, even in the middle of a pandemic, was just wonderful.

Eileen B (Wife of Resident)

I would definitely recommend Maple Lodge to anyone whose loved ones need care and I want to personally thank each and every member of
staff for their constant hard work and dedication.

H A (Daughter of Resident)

From day one, myself and my family felt reassured. Any worries or concerns were quickly addressed and we felt a true belonging. Obviously over the last difficult twelve months, our concerns became different concerns. Again, we have been kept informed of all changes and through face times and more recently garden and pod visits our Mum continues to laugh and sing and we are comforted and reassured. Now with room visits, we are so happy to see mum and spend time chatting to her carers once again. They feel like family. Thank you to the team, you are earth’s angels.

Julie T (Daughter of resident)

Today has been the first time I have seen my dad and been able to hold his hand… well all I can say is thank you to the helpful and kind staff for everything they are doing for my dad and other residents in these hard times for their hard work. It really means a lot.
