Dovehaven Care Homes is proud to share that Ashton View has maintained its ‘Good’ rating following the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection in August 2026. This achievement highlights the team’s continued commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and person‑centred care for residents and families across the North West.
The result reflects the dedication of Home Manager Arvinder Goraya, who joined Ashton View earlier this year, and the hard work of her team. Their focus on wellbeing, dignity and everyday quality of life continues to shape a positive and supportive environment where residents feel valued and families feel reassured.
Arvinder Goraya, Home Manager, said: 'Maintaining our Good CQC rating is a testament to the team’s consistency, commitment, and pride in the care we deliver every day. I’m incredibly proud of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure our residents receive safe, compassionate, person‑centred support. Our achievements are built on strong teamwork and the unwavering support of senior management.'
Ashton View in Wigan is a purpose‑built nursing home for up to 58 residents, offering general nursing care, dementia nursing and residential dementia care. The home is well‑known locally for its warm, community‑focused atmosphere. Recently, the team celebrated resident Nelly Kelly’s 100th birthday, receiving more than 150 cards from the local community - a lovely reflection of the strong relationships built within the area.
During the inspection, colleagues across the home demonstrated strong teamwork, professionalism and a clear commitment to continuous improvement. Inspectors noted that staff were caring and kind, with team members showing a strong understanding of resident’s needs and preferences. Positive interactions between staff and residents were observed throughout the assessment.
Dovehaven’s Quality & Compliance team also played an important role, working closely with inspectors to ensure the service was represented accurately and fairly. Their support helped the home achieve an outcome that reflects the high standards delivered every day.
Jenny Davies, CEO of Dovehaven Care Homes, said: 'I’m incredibly proud of Arvinder and the whole Ashton View team. Maintaining a Good CQC rating is a real reflection of the care, commitment and teamwork that goes into making Ashton View such a welcoming place for our residents. It’s also lovely to see the strong relationships the team has built with families and the wider Wigan community. A huge well done to everyone at Ashton View for continuing to put residents at the heart of everything they do'
