Dovehaven is absolutely delighted to share that our Brooklands team, led by David Wright, won Dementia Care Team of the Year last week at The Stars of Social Care Awards! The awards took place on Friday 8th May at the Kimpton Clocktower in Manchester and were hosted by Josie Gibson. This is a fantastic achievement and a proud moment for everyone at Brooklands, recognising the exceptional care, commitment and compassion shown by the team every single day.
The award celebrates teams delivering outstanding, person-centred dementia care, using creativity, empathy and specialist knowledge to support people living with dementia, while also standing alongside their families with reassurance, guidance and understanding.

At Dovehaven, this kind of recognition means so much because it reflects the heart of who we are. Brooklands is a brilliant example of Strength in Unity in action, a team working together with shared purpose, kindness and professionalism to make a meaningful difference to residents’ lives.
This win is also a powerful reflection of the high-quality dementia care delivered across Dovehaven and our continued commitment to providing specialist dementia care in the North West, including our work in dementia care Liverpool and across our wider network of care homes in Liverpool.
We know awards are never won by one person alone. They are earned through consistency, teamwork and a daily commitment to doing the right thing for the people we support. That is exactly what Brooklands has shown, and we could not be prouder.
David Wright, Home Manager at Brooklands, said 'We are absolutely delighted that The Brooklands team have been recognised for the dementia care team award, Brooklands staff go above and beyond every day for the people they care for and this award is just the cherry on the cake for us all, I am so pound to be part of the Brooklands family.'

Rebecca & Robert, Senior Care Workers at Brooklands said 'This award is something that we are very proud to receive for our staff team, this external recognition shows how well our home is thought of by everyone - the staff team are so happy. This achievement is for everyone at Brooklands.'

Jenny Davies, CEO at Dovehaven said 'Being there on the night and seeing the reaction from David and the Brooklands team made this award even more special. You could see just how much it meant to them, and it was incredibly emotional to witness such genuine pride and recognition for the care they give every single day. This award is so well deserved. The team leads with compassion, dignity and heart, and they are deeply passionate about delivering exceptional dementia care for residents and families. We are immensely proud of every single person at Brooklands and everything they stand for!'
We would also like to extend our congratulations to our fellow finalists, the team at Manchester House and our Support Services team. To be named alongside such incredible organisations is an achievement in itself, and we are so proud of you all.
This award is a moment to celebrate, but it is also a reminder of the everyday difference our teams make, supporting residents and families with dignity, warmth and specialist care that is tailored to the individual. Congratulations once again to David Wright and the whole Brooklands team. This is a truly deserved win, and a wonderful example of the compassion, excellence and unity that define Dovehaven.
